This week's teacher feature is Mrs. Dorcey. Mrs. Jean Marie Dorcey was born on August 13, 1965 in St. Paul, Nebraska. During her country school days, she says her best memory is when she played dodge ball and duck, duck, goose during recess. She attended high school at Wolbach Public School in Nebraska and later Mrs. Dorcey went to college at Wayne State. Mrs. Dorcey has been teaching for seventeen years and says the best part of her job is helping students succeed and seeing them understand, then doing the work independently. The job of Mrs. Dorcey's dreams, besides a teacher, would be a counselor because she would enjoy listening and trying to come up with a way to help.
In her spare time she loves to walk, read and spend time playing games with her family. Her favorite dessert would be chocolate chip cookies because she loves chocolate! The three words that would describe Mrs. Dorcey best would be patient, friendly and dedicated. When asked if she could be any inanimate object she said she would be a river because they are calm and peaceful, but always moving. As for aliens, Mrs. Dorcey thinks that maybe they might exist.
