11 Tracksters Qualify for STATE Meet

The Wakefield Track Team competed at the district track meet in Hartington on May 8, and came home with 11 state qualifiers.
The following girls qualified for the state meet: Carley Gardner, Discus; Des Driskell, 800 and 1600; Lexi Nelson, 200 and 400; Kelsey Bard, shot put; 4 X 800 relay team made up of Driskell, Morgan Lunz, Stephanie Klein, Keri Lunz, with Kristina Lunz as the alternate.
The following boys qualified for the state meet: Joel Nixon, 400; Colby Henderson, 800; Tyler Bodlak, 1600 and 3200; 4 X 800 relay team made up of Nick Curnyn, Nixon, Henderson, and Bodlak, with Brock Soderberg as the alternate.
The State Track Meet will be held at Omaha Burke High School on May 16 and 17. Visit the NSAA website (www.nsaahome.org) for details about the schedule of events.
