OID Team earns trip to STATE

The Wakefield Speech Team is sending the O.I.D. (Oral Interpretation of Drama) team to the State Speech Tournament. The OID team (made up of Morgan Lunz, Ryan Conyers, Mercedes Greve, and Hannah Paxton) earned 1st place honors at the district meet on March 4, held at Wayne State College. The speech team is coached by Mrs. Zoe Vander Weil.
This marks the 5th consecutive year that Wakefield has sent an OID team to state, and the second straight year for Lunz. Wakefield has also sent a team to State Speech in 8 of the past 9 years, earning a medal at State in 7 of those years.
The State tournament is held in Kearney on March 19. The OID team will be performing for the student body in the main gym at approximately 11:30 on Wednesday, March 18. Good Luck to Morgan, Ryan, Mercedes, Hannah, and Mrs. Vander Weil.
