Board of Education Goals
by Clayton Waddle
On January 16th, the Wakefield School Board along with the school administration met to discuss goals and give direction in the area of strategic planning for the district. The purpose of the retreat was to refine areas in which the board of education could play a part in advancing the students and district as a whole.
The four goals the school board discussed are as follows:
Goal #1 - Wakefield Community School will provide educational opportunities that meet the individual needs of students and staff.
Goal #2 - Wakefield Community School will monitor and address items which are seen as a physical plant need on a one to five year basis.
Goal #3 - Wakefield Community School will support and encourage communication with staff, parents, patrons, and students.
Goal #4 - Wakefield Community School will make an efficient use of resources.
The four goals have been refined from what was discussed at the previous school board retreat. Each of the four goals has been assigned to one of the committees the school board has in place. School board committees meet throughout the year to work on these goals and make plans for the future of Wakefield School.
Your school board is made up of six members with three holding offices. The officers of the school board are: Mark Victor, President; Tim Bebee, Vice President; and Liza Lunz, Secretary. Additionally, Doug Christensen, Renee Kindschuh, and Julie Rose are the remaining members.
