Many students are going out for all sports this year. Here is a little news about the fall teams.
Golf
With one amazing golf coach and four fantastic girls, this year will be a great year. The golf team consists of four girls and Coach Jaime Manz. We interviewed Coach Manz about the upcoming season and she said that she loves coaching the game because she loves teaching the girls about the game of golf. We assure you that they will be better than last year. They practice harder and have more experience. Come watch the girls swing their way to a victory!
Volleyball
This volleyball season is going to be great because of the 15 awesome girls and coaches, Megan Nixon and Timarie Hansen. The coaches this season are teaching great strategies like aggressive serving, and quick, unpredictable play. We interviewed some of the players and coaches to get their thoughts on the season. “The volleyball season starts September 2, 2010,” says Coach Hansen. Amanda Luhr and Keri Lunz, the team’s two seniors, said they love the team unity. “High school volleyball is a lot harder than youth volleyball because we play harder teams.” All in all, we are excited for this volleyball season.
Football
The Wakefield Trojans are starting the season against Stanton. We interviewed Mr. Clay and he said, “I like the game of football and working with kids.” Mr. Clay doesn’t know how many games the team will win this year, but they have some injuries to take care of. Good luck Trojans!
