Brenda Gallardo attends DREAM BIG Academy

Gallardo chosen for elite group from across Nebraska

September 20, 2013

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Business Administration hosted the 2nd
DREAM BIG Academy July 14-17, 2013. DREAM BIG, which stands for Develop-Risk-
Empower-Achieve-Maximize-Build-Innovate-Grow, provided upcoming high school
seniors the opportunity to focus on business education and learn about the many
opportunities available to them in the world of business. Students met many business
professionals and worked directly with UN-L business faculty and UN-L students.
The final day of the academy was held at ConAgra Foods in Omaha. Students spent the
day listening to ConAgra Foods leaders from each of their divisions in information
technology, human resources, operations, production, and finance present on
everything from career options to personal finance.
Brenda Gallardo was nominated to attend the DREAM BIG academy by Mrs. Harding .
She was required to complete an application and secure nominations from the school.
Not everyone who applied was accepted, it was an elite group that was chosen from all
across Nebraska. According to Brenda, “the event was very well put together, it gave all
of the campers the opportunity to explore in detail all aspects of UN-L’s College of
Business Administration.” Brenda felt the experience was very rewarding, she learned
much, and developed lasting connections and friendships
