54ca502d9fd27 Small groups of students were challenged to stack 100 cups into any formation and get their picture taken with it before it collapsed! Harder than you think!
"Write the School" challenged students to walk through the halls and find and record 100 words they could read.
SO MUCH FUN! We heard that repeated over and over, especially at the 100th day photo booth where students got to "dress" like they were 100!
TROJAN PRIDE isn't just about fun (although IT IS) it is about older students mentoring younger students. That's what makes a caring community.
Another fine example of mentoring.
Students also got to rotate to a Math Games center where they had many opportunities to show 100.
Writing the School was another favorite.
Photo booth fun!
Another favorite of the day was a QR Code Scavenger Hunt. Students were paired with an iPad and recording sheet and were challenged to follow the QR Codes to their final destination! Don't know what a QR Code is? Ask an elementary student!
Mr. Wulf made another appearance (not dressed in a red suit this time!) to read 100 day books with the students.
Before going to the photo booth, students could decorate their own 100 day glasses.
Mrs. Soderberg and Mrs. Brudigam did an AMAZING job running the photo booth and getting each child to smile big!
I "moustache" you, how old are you?
Helping a friend makes a caring community.
LOVE the glasses!
Love these, too!
Working together makes a caring community.
Smiles SO bright, they have to wear shades!
Cup stacking success!
Another successful challenge.
These two are REALLY getting into it!
Smile and hurry up and take the picture!
SO much fun!

The 100th Day and TROJAN PRIDE 2015

January 30, 2015

Each month, elementary students get to show their "TROJAN PRIDE" by teaming up with friends from another grade to celebrate the caring community that we build each and every day!  The January TROJAN PRIDE activity just happened to fall on the 100th day of school, how lucky were we?  So, the first grade teachers planned a variety of activities to not only enable older students to mentor younger students, but to practice EVERYTHING 100 on this very special day!

Students rotated through six stations throughout the morning:  (1) 100 Day books with Mr. Wulf,  (2) Math Games with 100, (3) 100 Glasses Craft, (4) Photo Booth and "If I were 100 . . . ." writing, "(5) 100 Cup Stacking Challenge, and (6) QR Code Scavenger Hunt with iPads.

Overwhelming favorites for the morning included the QR Code Scavenger Hunt and the 100 Cup Stacking Challenge!  If you would like to see more pictures or read examples of the "If I were 100..." writing, please take some time to roam the elementary hallway.  There are MANY masterpieces!

Thank you to all of the para-professional, specialists, and teachers for helping to make this day not only fun, but a learning experience for everyone!
