The Wakefield Circle of Friends students grades (K-12) were honored to participate in the Wakefield Balloon Days Parade on October 17, 2015.  Throughout the walk, students handed out blue bead necklaces and autism awareness stickers to parade patrons to promote awareness to autism.  A total of 24 students walked in the parade.

The Circle of Friends is an organization funded from the Autism Action Project through the Circle of Friends Project.  The goal of Circle of Friends Project is to help individuals with disabilities increase the quality of positive social interactions, develop empathy and caring in peers, and increase academic classroom participation.  Over 100 schools across the state of Nebraska are participating in this project.
