Coin War Against Cancer

Students raised over $800

By Michelle Galles

September 25, 2017

The Wakefield FCCLA Chapter challenged the Elementary and High School students during Homecoming week to a Coin War.  The Coin War took place to raise money and awareness for the fight against cancer.  Each grade had a jar in a teacher’s classroom to place coins in – pennies gave each class points and silver coins took points away.  At the end of Homecoming week the Wakefield School body raised $811.60.   All proceeds will be sent to Children’s Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska and donated to the Rainbow House.  The Rainbow House provides a place for families to live while they have children staying at the hospital for an extended period of time.  Thank you for your support!!
