Books are a Treasure!

2016 Scholastic Book Fair brought lots of Treasure Hunters to the Library

October 19, 2016

Many students and their families arrived at the Scholastic Book Fair, held in the Library from October 3-6, to shop for books and other treasures.  This year's book fair raised just over $2800 in sales.  The library is happy to add nearly 40 new hardbacks and paperbacks to the library collection for students to check out.  We would like to thank all those who visited and shopped at this year's book fair.

Teachers also expressed their appreciate for those book purchased and donated to their classroom libraries.

Many helpers make the book fair a success.  This year, students who helped set up and take down the book fair included Oscar C., Josue S., Chris O., Brandon T., Sam H., Dillon B., Blake B., Justin E., Jack H., and Brandon A.  We are also most appreciative of the adult volunteers who manned the book fair after school or on the Thursday of Parent-Teachers Conferences.  We extend a big "Thank you" to Kristin Beaty, Annette Chase, Carleen Green, Michelle Simpson, Bree Brown, Angie Borg, Heidi Brown, Ellie Dutcher, Shannon Johnson, Shanda Geiser, and Tammy Mogus.

Library staff, including Mrs. Bonnie Hoffman, and student aides, Andrea L. and Guilia B. also assisted in a number of ways for the book fair.

Several lucky winners of the Pirate Treasure Nugget guessing game were given books from the fair.  The correct number of nuggets was 134.  The following were winners in the contest:
