Apply2College event for Seniors

52 College applications completed

By Harding, Lori

September 08, 2017

Thirty-two seniors at Wakefield High School took a critical step in the college preparation process when they participated in a college application event Thursday, September 7, at the school. A total of 52 college applications were completed during the 2-hour time frame! The event was part of a statewide Apply2College Campaign sponsored by the EducationQuest Foundation. Over 200 high schools statewide are conducting Apply2College events this fall to help high school seniors apply to at least one college. During the event, seniors received hands-on help with college applications from school staff.

Completing a college application can be overwhelming for many students. One of the purposes of hosting this event is to help reduce college application barriers many students face and it will potentially increase the number of seniors who go on to pursue higher education.

Mrs. Harding and the seniors are very grateful to our administration for providing two hours during the school day to participate in this very productive event!
