College Access Day at UNL

74 Freshmen and Sophomores attend on Oct. 3

October 05, 2018

Wakefield Freshmen and Sophomore students attended a College Access Day at UN-L Wednesday, October 3. After the general welcome, students attended break out sessions to learn more about careers in their area of interest, choosing from one of the 11 colleges available at UN-L. There was also a general academic session for students who come to college not knowing exactly which major they intend to pursue. Following the academic sessions, students learned about the nuts and bolts of what it takes to successfully prepare for college while in high school. Students broke up into groups for campus tours, ate at one of the student cafeterias, and attended a closing session following lunch. Two of the most popular activities from the day were the campus tour and hearing from UN-L students who spoke during the closing session. Lunch was also a big hit! Overall, it was a very educational and enjoyable day. A big thank you to administration and school board for making this opportunity possible.
