DREAMBIG Academy at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln
Nora Fernandez Represents for Wakefield High School
The University of Nebraska-Lincoln was the setting for this year’s DREAMBIG Academy held from July 18-22, 2021. Nora Fernandez, Wakefield Senior, attended this stellar event.
The DREAMBIG Academy provides diverse high school seniors the opportunity to learn about the dynamic world of business and potential career opportunities at the College of Business on the campus of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. The academy emphasizes leadership, networking skills and success in the business world. The week also consisted of fun activities across the University campus including staying in a residence hall and meeting new friends from across Nebraska. Regarding her experience, Nora comments that she thought the experience was very positive. She enjoyed the sessions and listening to speakers relate to attendees how they worked their way up through the world of business, creating successful businesses of their own. Nora felt this experience validated her desire to pursue her career goals and helped build her confidence to do just that!
