VIP DAY

(formerly known as Grandparent’s Day)

April 14, 2022

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We are excited to be celebrating VIP Day this year at Wakefield Elementary School! All the teachers, cooks, custodians, para-professionals, and staff are planning a great day of learning and fellowship for our students and their guests.  Wakefield Elementary School encourages families to invite grandparents or other special guests to share this event with an adult that is special to them.

VIP Day will be celebrated at Wakefield Elementary on Thursday, April 14, 2022.  Guests of students in grades K-6 are encouraged to arrive at school between 8:45-9:00 a.m.  We ask that all guests come to the main gymnasium.  One change this year will be that we will not be serving lunch.  Instead, our special guests are invited to enjoy doughnuts, muffins, juice and coffee with our students.

Our VIPs will get the opportunity to participate in some classroom time and enjoy some music and/or other special presentations.

This will be an early dismissal day for all of Wakefield Elementary.  Students will be dismissed at 11:00.  If you would like your child(ren) to go home with their VIP, we must have a note indicating this.  You will be getting a dismissal form closer to VIP Day.

The school only needs to know the total number of guests that will be attending for each child.  You can call the office, or email Mrs. Anderson (landerson@wakefieldschools.org) prior to April 4, 2022.  Please limit the number of participants to 4 guests per student.  We ask that children (under 18) are left home.  This is a time for adults to visit school and see the great things that are happening at school.  Wakefield Elementary will not be sending out invitations to VIPs, so parents must be sure to let the guests know the details.  Special guests must have the enclosed ticket to participate.

Sincerely,

Jerad Wulf
