It is with great pleasure that we recognize Bianca Castillo for her exceptional qualities and contributions. Bianca’s actions, both big and small, reflect a compassionate spirit that has created a warm and inclusive atmosphere within our school. In addition to her compassionate nature, she is a talented artist with exceptional creative abilities. Furthermore, Bianca consistently encourages her classmates. Sierra stands out as a leader in our school community. She is known for her kindness, positive attitude, resilience, and strong work ethic. One of Sierra's standout qualities is her commitment to helping her classmates succeed. Known for going above and beyond, she consistently goes out of her way to assist peers with their homework, creating a collaborative and supportive academic environment within our school. Additionally, Sierra treats everyone with a level of respect that is truly commendable. She helps to create a welcoming atmosphere within our school community. Sierra is incredibly involved in extracurricular activities and she leads by example. She can be counted on to do the right thing even if it is not easy. Wakefield Community School's very own senior, Ashlyn Boeckenhauer, has been awarded the prestigious Regents Scholarship by the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. Regents Scholarships are offered to residents of Nebraska who are graduating seniors of Nebraska high schools. Applicants with a minimum ACT composite of 30 and either a rank in the top 25% of their graduating class OR a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher qualify for the award. The Regents Scholarship covers undergraduate resident tuition for full-time students and is renewable with a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher. The award is renewable for up to four total years or until 120 attempted credit hours is reached or a bachelor's degree is earned. Ashlyn is incredibly involved at Wakefield Community Schools as she is a member of the National Honor Society, the Student Council, FCCLA, and FCA, and participates in track and volleyball. As of right now, Ashlyn plans to earn her bachelor's degree in animal science. Her goal is to pursue a career as a large animal IVF embryologist specifically in the beef industry. There is no doubt that Ashlyn has a very bright future ahead of her.
